Earning $MDR

Driver rewards in the MoDriv ecosystem are designed to be a dynamic blend of baseline incentives and market-driven demand for vehicle data and connectivity.

In MoDriv's initial phase, the primary source of rewards will be the Baseline Demand Signal. As the network matures and expands, we anticipate a gradual shift towards market-driven rewards, thereby reducing the need to continually increase the circulating supply of $MDR. This model echoes the approach of other web3 networks like Helium, where initial rewards for network participation eventually give way to rewards based on actual data usage.

Baseline Issuance Rewards Baseline Issuance aims to reward drivers for their connection duration and quality, independent of immediate data usage by end customers. This approach is about laying the groundwork for the network, encouraging drivers to connect vehicles and stream data types that will likely be valuable to data consumers and app developers in the future.

A substantial portion of the total $MDR supply, say 45%, is earmarked for Baseline Issuance. This pool will be distributed over a set period, such as 40 years, with a decreasing issuance rate annually.

The objectives of this system include:

  • Encouraging long-term participation and commitment to MoDriv.

  • Motivating continuous data connections for a comprehensive view of driver behavior and vehicle performance.

  • Rewarding contributions of more frequent and reliable data.

  • Avoiding incentives that promote unnecessary driving, focusing instead on data quality and connectivity.

Market Issuance Rewards In the MoDriv ecosystem, users and apps will earn rewards based on the value they generate, establishing a direct correlation between contributions and incentives. The highest contributors to the network's value will earn the most significant $MDR rewards and have greater influence over its future.

Transactions within licensed MoDriv apps, such as hypothetical ones like AutoSync, EcoDrive, or SmartRoutes, will generate additional $MDR tokens for users, with a portion of these tokens being burned.

The specifics of these rewards will vary, determined by app developers and agreed upon by users, with the stipulation that rewards are paid in $MDR and include a token burn of, say, 1%. The MoDriv Foundation can facilitate transactions by accepting cash and remitting $MDR on behalf of app developers who prefer not to handle $MDR directly.

This dual-reward system in MoDriv is designed to foster a robust, user-driven community, where contributions directly correlate to rewards, driving the platform's growth and innovation.
